R:Charts

Introduction

Using R:Charts, you can connect to your R:BASE database, choose the table or view that the chart will be based upon, create and save your chart. The specific chart you create will be saved in a file with the extension RBC. The RBC file extension is associated to R:Charts once installed on your computer. Double clicking on any RBC file will launch R:Charts and display the chart created.

R:Charts is available for R:BASE 7.x and R:BASE Turbo V-8 databases.

The connection between the chart file you create and R:BASE is the Plugin file, which is included in the R:Charts default installation directory. The R:BASE PLUGINS command uses the plugin file to create a live data image of your chart, that you can be used in R:BASE forms and reports. The R:Charts Plugin supports several image formats: BMP, JPG, GIF, WMF, PCX, EPS, SVG, and HTM.

R:Charts .RBC files will most likely be based on your R:BASE views where limited concentrated data will be displayed, of a few columns and rows. And since the view will automatically be updated when the table data changes, the chart image can be created on the fly to reflect the current data.
